Mountain Roots will offer seven weeks of day camp in Henderson and Transylvania counties this summer, including at a new location in Fletcher.
Mountain Roots has been running camps and outdoor programs in Transylvania County since 2012. As an outdoor-education based nonprofit, Mountain Roots accomplishes its mission to provide discovery and outdoor learning experiences all year long through school-based programming as well as day camps.

With the help of STAND T.A.L.L., the HPD acquired its latest K-9. Sunny, a 2-year old Belgian Malinois, completed multi-day training last month.

“If it weren’t for the wonderful people at STAND T.A.L.L.,” Laite said, “this would never have been possible. That would have left our department with only one patrol K-9 available for duty.”

STAND T.A.L.L. is a project of the Sentinel Patriot Club, a North Carolina nonprofit that works to raise awareness of the importance of good communications and relationships between law enforcement and members of the community

Now that we have your attention, we are delighted that our client Team ECCO has had an impressive 2,000 lb shark tank installed. It's been a big undertaking but they are definitely up to the task! Recently they did a photoshoot with some community members, thanking them for the support they have given the project. If you haven't checked out the new tank, please do so! We were so happy to work with HopeRX on this important topic, helping produce materials for the event that took place last night at Blue Ridge Community College. Award-winning author Sam Quinones spoke to a crowd of 700 about the ongoing opioid crisis and discussed how it all began. HopeRX executive director Julie Huneycutt also addressed the crowd, encouraging action. Read more here from Blue Ridge Now.
